From Puno, the border with Bolivia is less than two hours away. This August 6, while Peru takes a day off for the Battle of Junín, Bolivia’s streets fill with parades and color for its Independence Day. It’s literally the long weekend with the most reasons to cross the border.
And on the other side awaits the Salar de Uyuni: 10,000 km² of white salt that, during the dry season, becomes the most photographed natural mirror in South America.

Day 1
Puno → La Paz / Copacabana
Departure from Puno into Bolivian territory. Stop at the Bolivian side of Lake Titicaca before continuing the journey.
Day 2
Heading to Uyuni
Transfer to the city of Uyuni, gateway to the salt flat. Free afternoon to explore the town.
Day 3
Salt Flat Tour
Train Cemetery, Incahuasi Island, sea of salt, and sunset with mirror effect. End of day in Uyuni.
Day 4
Return to Puno
Journey back to Peruvian territory, arriving in Puno.
